Why the weather sucks today

I don't think this place has a shovel LOL. Snow is very unusual here.

Just a layer of Under Armour ColdGear does me a treat with a shirt over the top, amazing stuff but so overpriced here.

It's overpriced everywhere . I'd like to be able to bike in cold weather, but gear suitable for biking in temperatures below 50°F is expensive. I priced a set of pants/trousers and a jacket at over $500.

Beth's threatening to drag me out for a run in 15 minutes and it's a bit cold out there. :~ (not to mention the fact that I haven't run for a few weeks and I'm a bit reluctant to find out how out of condition I am). Once more into the (rather small, as this is Bournemouth after all) snowdrift, I guess.

I keep putting off running because of weather, Christams, New Year etc, it's now nearly a month since I last went running and I'm meant to be running a 10k in a few weeks. Better get out this weekend and put in some miles I guess. Have fun on your run Russ

Yep. I've not run in at least a couple of months, so I know that feeling. :rose: It went OK in the end...we did our usual 3.5 mile course and although it was a bit stop-start in places I was getting into my stride and sprinting a little over the last half a mile or so. :)

Damn. Ok well it's more expensive then ;) A long sleeve coldgear top sets you back about £45, when I was last over there I picked up some heatgear leggings for $20! But it's been with me for over 5 years and 8 gridiron seasons, so I've had my worth out of it I guess.

Cycling stuff tends to be that way. You've got to plan for ambient temperature, minus a 20 mph wind chill. I made the mistake of riding one time in 30°F weather in my running gear. I was miserable, so I turned around after ten miles. Four miles from home, I stopped feeling cold[^], which scared the crap out of me.

I'm glad one of us got to run today. I've not run outside since before Christmas. I took the holidays off, and we've had bitterly cold conditions (and a snow storm) since. I'm getting all too familiar with the running routes on the treadmills in our fitness room :sigh:.

I think the last time I was out was in October so you're not doing too bad! Now we've done our usual route today I'm sure we'll get back into it in no time. :)

You are merely confirming your insanity! I did all the excercise I am ever going to do when I was in the army, and refuse to run/carry/lift etc ever again.

It has snowed ever day this year with temps being below freezing for weeks. In recent times we have not had this but looks like we could have a 1970s winter in the works. With that said the in-laws have 3 to 5 feet of snow and they are only 2 hours drive to the north.

That is how I felt coming home last night. It took me 80 minutes to go 18 miles. Usually I do this in 25 to 35 minutes.

No running to the bar to get there before last orders? No carrying pints or spirits? No lifting arm to drink? Don't think so

I know for a fact you're still doing plenty of 12 oz. curls, based on some of your late Friday / early Saturday posts.
