Is my girlfriend a Hypocrite???
-
My girlfriend has been quite outspoken about "Air Brushing" images in glossy magazines. (Since I demonstrated to her how easy it is). Saying: It gives a false impression & goals for young girls. (She has a 16 year old daughter) But this is where it gets interesting: She went to a photo shoot with her daughter! :-D And when the prints came back in the post, what do you think happened??? You guessed it, a tummy tuck here, a boob job there... Am I alone in thinking that is Hypocritical? Funny, but still Hypocritical!   She is also going to kill me for posting this (If she finds out...)

:-D I went through exactly the same thing with my wife a couple years ago. Somehow, she didn't see it as hypocritical in any way, though. I just had to accept that I was "wrong".

step 1: Have her make the excuse into something she finds plausible and name it. "Oh, it was just 'enhancing' the picture. step 2: Buy a magazine with some photoshopping done in there. step 3: When she complains, "oh it is just 'enhancing' the girl" step 4: Run like hell.

Why run... Being beaten with a magazine by the woman I love could lead to an interesting evening after 16 years of marriage... :-\

It's not the retouching, it's the magazine -- even if there were no retouching, magazines (and such) would still give false goals.
