Sometimes, It hurts to be a developer

Lats night, I went to the Marriott web site to book an hotel room. The cool front page caught my attention. Naturally, I right clicked to see if the effects were generated using Flash. They were not. So, I launched the developer toolbar in Chrome to figure out what JS library they where using and how they were achieving the effect. After an hour or so of understanding how those effects where produced and open source JS libraries where used I suddenly realized that I needed to book an hotel room. Unfortunately, I found out that there were no rooms available for my choice of dates. :(

There were free rooms an hour before you actually got around to checking…

Weird. I don't remember doing that, and I don't remember posting a message about it under the name Rama Krishna Vavilala on CP -- but I must have done, because it was obviously me.
I wanna be a eunuchs developer! Pass me a bread knife!

Did you notice that it also makes for a neat shuffling and re-ordering game? eg: Try to achieve this sequence with the least number of hits (clockwise from top): 1. trust and points 2. 15% off on weekends 3. packages 4. hotel deals 5. find 6. meetings earn more I'm adding this to my list of things to do when I'm bored

If she were a great date, she would also have a room :)
