Hey, most of the people in the US are descended from immigrants of some type or another... But if you can't laugh at yourself, how do you expect to enjoy life?

Proud to have finally moved to the A-Ark. Which one are you in?

Heh... My ancestors are from all over eastern and western Europe... I've got at least five nationalities and several religions in there somewhere... I'm a mutt :)

Ever you have an irresistible urge to convert or conquer yourself? "Repent me!" I think the worst would be Germanic and French ancestry. Always surrending to yourself would suck.

If I have accidentally said something witty, smart, or correct, it is purely by mistake and I apologize for it.

But... that's not quite right... a whole bunch of them work together on one job.

Hence why posted as a JOKE, & in the Soapbox. If we all considered EVERYTHING that everyone else may find offensive, then we would all be mutes! You live in a country of free speech, appreciate it!!!

I know it was not meant in any malicious way. It's just that with several recent laws in Arizona and a candidate for governor in Alabama making xenophobia a central plank in his platform, I'm a little touchy about the subject.

Possibly understandable, but why take that out on me? Let it just go... We all have our crosses to bear!

Haha... Nah, no French, though I am part German... The family history is a little fuzzy, but I think I have Russian, German, Polish, Italian, and Hungarian in there... So I have Stalin, Hitler, Mussolini, a bunch of Polack jokes, and... uh... the only funny thing I can think of for Hungry is that it used to encompass Transylvania, making me part Vampire.

But you were the superior... You know, I just can't bring myself to repeat that BS from the backroom. And I wasn't from immigrants. My grandparents were in Puerto Rico (Then belonging to Spain) when the US got it in the war. They were turned into citizens without any immigration process. (Unless you consider war a process)

I like the Dennis Miller quote (Paraphrasing from memory)... "From day one, the people who came here by boat have looked down their noses at the people who came here on foot. And they, in turn, did their best to assimilate into our society, so they could look down on the next generation of immigrants."

Um, unless you are a descendant of an American Indian, or a slave brought here against their will, just about everyone here falls into that category.

Most of the people already being targeted in Arizona -- even before the law officially goes into effect -- are legal citizens and the children of several generations of legal citizens. The people who wrote these laws have stated clearly that the real reason they were written is racism and xenophobia, not immigration.

Actually, I just like to wear it in the most ridiculous possible situations... That's great for a lot of shirts... Going to the beach, or walking in the park on a sunny day: "Keep out of Direct Sunlight" Getting on a plane to go on vacation: "There's No Place Like 127.0.0.1" Ok, maybe "a lot" was an overstatement, as i can't think of any others right now... But you get the idea... I just like to confuse people.
