Ah. The Mayfair. I was genuinely saddened when it shut. One of my fondest memories was seeing Gypsie Queens and Wolfsbane supporting the Quire Boys. Blaze Bayley had the audience in stitches when he tried to get the audience to sing along to "My mum hits me over the head with a baseball bat when I don't do the washing up."

Ladies and gentlemen, I present to you NWOBHM. Metals resurfacing in the late 70s, early 80s with the New Wave Of British Heavy Metal. This sound swept the world with tracks like this one[^] and this one[^] from Iron Maiden. Soon, other bands were releasing tracks that were to influence countless bands worldwide. Bands like Judas Priest, who released the British Steel album which is now considered one of the classic HM albums. This album featured tracks like Breaking The Law[^]. Motorhead surfaced, proving that you don't have to be good looking[^] to be successful.

I was hoping your NWOBHM post would have some Budgie, some Girl and some Tygers of Pan Tang. They predate the NWOBHM, but some Saxon would have still been appropriate,

Personal favourite would be this[^]one. But nothing beats the three chord band[^]. This video must have cost at least $150. But Angus is already in style, if not the main attraction yet.

How is AC/DC related to the NWOBHM ? They are Aussies. Well, they came out of Australia, anyhow.

I'm pretty sure I posted Saxon the other night (or was I just imagining it)????? I was certainly researching the tracks to put on. I possibly got distracted by Elaine mentioning them.

Not in any other way than that I mentioned my favourite song of that genre. And then compared to the best band all genres. Well, with Bon Scott atleast, Brian Johnson is another story IMAO.
