I'm touched, deeply touched

So, last week I gave a friend of Catherine's a guitar. His dad bought himself a guitar for fathers day despite the fact his son had just started guitar lessons. I had an old one that I no longer use so I thought that the laddie might like it, so I gave it to his mother to give to him. Today I got a lovely card and some chocolates from him. Apparently he's over the moon with it and hasn't wanted to put it down. The card really touched me - kids are great.

That's really cool. On the other hand, I gave one of my students last year a girls electric guitar, and she never really thanked me, nor did she do lessons again this year.

Yeah, that was cool of you.:thumbsup: I was so annoyed with the dad and his behaviour that I asked his mum if he'd like one of my old guitars. The funny thing, my guitar was worth way more than the one the dad bought, and his dad's not allowed to play it. Serves him right.

*grin* that'll show him. I did some recording with my daughter last night. The school asked her to improvise over a blues, but she had no idea what to play, so I was teaching her some licks ( she plays clarinet ) and then we recorded the result.

Yeah, I could see that. I was more hurt when she decided not to take lessons from my again this year. That tells me she wasn't as interested as I hoped she was.

Yeah, it's a lot of fun. I have a 32 track, but I'm using the little 8 track with Hannah, b/c it's easier to set up and we only need two tracks. I have been thinking of selling it, though, so then I guess we'll use the bigger one.
