They actually wanted a way to market that rubber bumper thing, and call it an iCondom.

But they did! Didn't Steve 'his holiness' Jobs say it was just a software glitch? And besides that Apple aren't wrong, if you suffer loss of signals then you are 'holding it wrong'. :-D

I'm waiting for Apple to release a newer version (iPhone Unleashed) which fixes the problems and is more expensive, providing everybody on a contract involving an iPhone 4 with the option to switch to the newer version for a sum of money (maybe about £75.)

And if it catches fire, have you "plugged it in wrong"? Or is that a software glitch, too?

I am astonished that Apple didn't find this issue in testing; however, once found they should deal with ti but, like all large companies, they just hoped it would all go away as Toyoda did with all of their recent issues. Be so much better for a companies image if the just fessed up and fixed it.

Fix it? Recall? Ha... They just apply The Formula

A = The number of IPhones sold B = The probability of a customer suing over the problem C = The average cost of an out-of-court settlement A * B * C = X If X is less than the cost of a recall, they don't do one.

Guys, how many times do you ahve to be told? The iPhone is fine, apart from the software glitch that shows the signal strength incorrectly. You are just holding it wrong. Sheesh.

cheers, Chris Maunder The Code Project | Co-founder Microsoft C++ MVP
