I am astonished that Apple didn't find this issue in testing; however, once found they should deal with ti but, like all large companies, they just hoped it would all go away as Toyoda did with all of their recent issues. Be so much better for a companies image if the just fessed up and fixed it.

Fix it? Recall? Ha... They just apply The Formula

A = The number of IPhones sold B = The probability of a customer suing over the problem C = The average cost of an out-of-court settlement A * B * C = X If X is less than the cost of a recall, they don't do one.

"A number of PR experts contacted by Cult of Mac blog yesterday said a recall of the iPhone 4 was "inevitable,"" "a number" ? zero is a number. "PR experts" ? so, it's speculation from an unspecified number of people. yay.

So running and hiding is a valid strategy after all?

A while ago he asked me what he should have printed on my business cards. I said 'Wizard'. I read books which nobody else understand. Then I do something which nobody understands. After that the computer does something which nobody understands. When asked, I say things about the results which nobody understand. But everybody expects miracles from me on a regular basis. Looks to me like the classical definition of a wizard.

But they did! Didn't Steve 'his holiness' Jobs say it was just a software glitch? And besides that Apple aren't wrong, if you suffer loss of signals then you are 'holding it wrong'. :-D

initially I did read that he said that Iphone 4 users were holding the phone wrong they shouldn't hold it at the bottom especially the left. A few weeks later they announced that it was a software glitch

Oh please, not that subject. I have met people from France who did not like me just because my grandfather once came for a visit about 70 years ago.

Guys, how many times do you ahve to be told? The iPhone is fine, apart from the software glitch that shows the signal strength incorrectly. You are just holding it wrong. Sheesh.

Just for the record, I bought one. It's my second iPhone (the last one jailbroken and unlocked onto tmobile, so its my first time dealing with crappy AT&T). With that out of the way, there is definitely an antenna problem, but it's not half as bad as the angry mob is making it out to be. You combine an antenna problem with crappy AT&T in NYC, and now you have a more cromulent problem. But then we already knew about that. By the way, Microsoft calling iPhone 4 Apples Windows Vista is 100% accurate. Anyone who's used Vista knows it's not half as bad as people made it out to be back then. Were there problems? Of course. But should Microsoft have recalled Vista?

The Vatican has just announced new rules in this area. Apparently, younger children will no longer be allowed to visit (told to me by a practising Catholic) *goestopubdrinksbeer*
