Been to ChromeExperiments lately?

Paid it a visit again, and there is some pretty cool stuff appearing, hope it is the shape of things to come with HTML5 etc. The speed as well of some of the things considering it is pojs (plain old javascript) running in a browser. Ok, a lot of them are pointless, but still pretty cool none the less, e.g. http://www.chromeexperiments.com/detail/wavy-scrollbars/[^] Time for some more Crystal Galaxy; http://www.chromeexperiments.com/detail/crystal-galaxy/[^] (I'm keeping clear of InterNetris today.....http://www.chromeexperiments.com/detail/internetris/[^])

Waving? dave.m.auld[at]googlewave.comThe canvas examples (which is mostly what is on that site) are cool. I wish they'd do some real-world examples of web workers and app caching. So far, all of the examples I have seen of these technologies in HTML5 (not seen on ChromeExperiments) have either been games or very small apps. These technologies have huge potential for business and commercial apps, but the shortcomings of both mean that programmers could really use some best-practices and solid examples.

Sure! But the main issue is that you cannot use these technologies in business apps as IE does not support these technologies yet. The only place where you can use them is in Mobile applications on mobile phones/pads that use webkit.

Not all business apps are targeted at such broad user groups that IE is an issue. It's also reasonably possible today to deploy a custom build of chromium or webkit browser as a host platform for a custom app. Even for mobile apps, some good examples would be nice. I wish I could share some of the work I've been doing but my employer wouldn't go for that.

Well, I just finished Crystal Galaxy on IE... Things can be done on IE side of things too, just that you have to go that extra mile... Things are looking very promising with IE9 tho...
