I am amazed that you do not get maths! It is a) so easy and b) so simple. Here is a simple easy maths primer... here[^]

The maths link and the videos from MIT look very helpful thanks allot both of you :D

One thing that is on my mind is what exactly is "Vector Projection" in relationship of 2D physics. From my understanding it is a direction that expands infinity as a line but I don't think I am correct

I googled and found this page, which explains a vector projection simply enough. Seems like you just place two vectors at the same origin. You then create a triangle by connecting the tip of one to the side of the second using a line perpendicular to the second (so a triangle with one 90 degree corner). Take the vector created by connecting the origin to that point on the second vector where the perpendicular line connects, and you have your vector projection. I am not sure what it is used for in 2D physics.

I am about to start University for a Computer Science degree however my maths skills are not great (GCSE level 2) as I haven't done A levels maths... Maths has always been a struggle for me as the tutors seemed more concerned on the "higher" students than "middle grade"... Can anyone recommend a on-line resource or book for learning some maths higher than GCSE level 2 as allot of algorithm books (especially game development books) contain lots of wonderful symbols and structure which I do not know (or know how to search for them as I do not know the names)? :-D

I (easily) passed the courses Graphics (50% of it was linear algebra), Data-structures (mostly about algorithmic complexity) and even Cryptography without passing the 1st-year Maths course (not until I re-did it for the 3rd time). Knowing a lot about maths may not be as important as they want you to think..

Sadly I have looked there, just seems to be too much association with maths terms I am not familiar with ie: "The vector resolute (also known as the vector projection) of two vectors, A in the direction of B (also A on B")" ... tells me that a projection is a direction between two vectors... The math symbols used some of which I know (dot product for example I know returns a number representing a vectors direction ie 0), but make it hard for me to just look at and understand :(

I don't find them hard, but some were quite tedious. Some of the expansions and transforms that we did back in school.. a recipe for a headache. However, when I first tackled my MS degree, I was dumbstruck by how much harder it was for me to do, what I previously considered simple, calculus. I am certain it was due to my lack of practice.

Ultimately, what it means is that a vector projection is nothing more than the compound of two vectors. An analogy. Two billiard balls approaching each other. Upon collision, if we were to consider only one of them, what is the new vector it results with, due to the impact, starting at the point of impact. Easy, eh? :)

That sounds a bit... racy and more like a bribe! :-D

                                      I can sympathize with that.

Only easy in conventional physics. Now try it at the quantum level! :) Wonderful....One of them turns into a whale and the other, a bowl of petunias!

NOT knowing maths is going to get you killed. Think Engineering, medicine, dance, etc :)

Apparently my thinking apparatus is having a little trouble today, because I don't see any connection between engineering, medicine and dance, other than that they all appear in your post.
