I believe that the most interesting post or a post with a lot of replies often gets picked

It does not seem to be always the case. "Most interesting" is very subjective. CP must have a way to make the selection.

Yes, it is subjective to the guy who wrote the newsletter... :) He might have list of long / highest voted threads, and then he will make final selection.

You can always just put BACON in the subject line.

In the daily email newsletter, there are always two posts at the bottom (Code Project Discussions - Have your say!). Does anyone know the criteria for the selections?

A human being who reads the forums and also creates the newsletter thinks to themselves "self, this looks like a good thread to mention in the daily newsletter" later on that person picks those threads. I mean, that's just a guess but what did you expect some kind of ridiculous software that automatically picks a thread? That would be a classic over engineered unnecessary geeky wank-fest if I ever heard of one. ;)

I mean, that's just a guess but what did you expect some kind of ridiculous software that automatically picks a thread? That would be a classic over engineered unnecessary geeky wank-fest if I ever heard of one. ;)

This does seem the most likely explanation.

Just because the code works, it doesn't mean that it is good code.
