This one is for all of you Brits... Every time I visit your country, I get completely confused, because everything is backwards... You drive on the wrong side of the road, and... well... ok, so it's just that, but it's still disorienting! And it's like ten degrees cooler here than it was in New York... And the air conditioning in our Surrey office is even worse than the air conditioning in our New York office... Sigh... Five days, and I can head back to the states.

Proud to have finally moved to the A-Ark. Which one are you in?

Naah - its you who drive on the wrong side of the road. We (and the Brits) drive on the right(which is the left) side of the road. I think I've stirred up a hornet's nest here. :)

I don't know any "Brits", but, being a Brit_on_, I can give you a few pointers:

There's a very simple rule: In the UK, one drives on the left; elsewhere one drives on the wrong.

Once you get used to living life at the correct temperature, things are much better.

Driving on the left is inherently safer. Just think, Half the worlds population drives on the left hand side of the road, so it cannot be wrong. As for it being cold, I am confused. New York is at the same latitude as Madrid, so it is not right to compare temperatures in that way, for if you did you would see that London is much hotter than New York. As for Air Con, well that is just a way of making money. Simply dress appropriately.

I guess a simple comparison of everything with gnihtyreve would have sufficed in telling it isn't so. Is it just me or everything backwards looks Welsh ?!

I remember many days in N.Y. where I wished it was 10° cooler. And a few days where I wished it was about 40° warmer...

Heh, I can't go out to lunch anyway... When you work on a trading desk (Even if you're not a trader), you eat at your desk.

But by your logic, the other half of the world's population drives on the right side of the road, so they can't be wrong either. If no one is wrong, then everyone is right... Therefore, I think we should all drive on BOTH sides of the road, to maximize safety! :-D

New York is supposed to hit 72 today. London is supposed to hit 58. The reason isn't important. What's important is that it's cold here :P

Actually, the problem isn't that it's failing to cool the office, but rather the opposite. The problem is that the office is only slightly above freezing, and I didn't pack any sweaters.

Yeah, this entire summer... It's just now becoming tolerable again.
