What a way to treat a new member
-
*Yawns* If you're gonna try and cause a stir about a new member, couldn't you guys come up with some new material? I've heard it ALL before, I posted a genuine question about a topic I'm struggling with, and all of a sudden there's 30+ posts about me personally. Get over it already!
A girl in Engineering AND IT?!...what is this nonsense?

Sometimes it's better just to leave well alone. I preferred to mock Dave - it's much more fun.
I'm not a stalker, I just know things. Oh by the way, you're out of milk.
Forgive your enemies - it messes with their heads

I have to say I'm pretty depressed reading the thread (below) about the new member. Have you guys never seen a female before? Do you really need to perpetuate the myth that developers have no social skills and turn into pre-pubescent teenagers at the site sight of a woman? I am cringing at the thought of all the female developers in the world reading that thread, at all the wives and girlfriends of you guys reading that thread, and of members such as Leckey, Trollslayer, Lauren, and Corinna, just to name a few. I know you're just tryint to make fun, but no, not like this.

Welcome, don't be put off, we are not as immature as we make out. P.S. Although you are based in the UK you look American to me, is this correct.(Please try not to be offended if you are not.)

I shall keep them more appropriate. I just let myself run away without thinking. Apologies have been made in general, but here is a personal one to you. Sorry if I let the side down.

I hope you won't let this bit of infantile behaviour put you off. This is genuinely a fun, friendly and constructive place to hang ou, and you can do a lot for your skills (and thus career) by getting involved in the community here. :rose:

I decided not to engage in that discussion. Not worth it

Exactly.

Responding to stupid boys would just make things worse. They want to be noticed, so every answer is a success to them. Ignorance is what they really need. :suss:
This statement is false.

Oh Corinna - mocking stupid boys is so much fun.

I would say that this is the default setting.

Yes, for a few minutes. But they'll appear again and again, craving for your attention, bathing in the sunshine of your emotional replies. Until you get really angry. But then it's too late to get rid of them. ;P Ignoring is boring, but it works cleaner and safer than anti-idiot-spray.
This statement is false.

Whats the URL? :) (Thats 'sight' by the way) And yes, the herd like group think in the Lounge is pathetic.

See my response in the aforementioned thread. Apologies to all members, I was in the wrong. (I have asked Chris to delete the thread.)

Already sounding and acting like a true politician. First you put your foot in, then you apologise!

There's nothing wrong with being juvenile, flirtatious, or teasing. However, there is a line that one cannot cross and some people can't see it. Sexual harassment and sexual innuendo are two distinct entities. Anti-idiot-spray is a necessity sometimes since it tends to have long-term to permanent effect.
