Let me check it up... Yeah, its for the Fremch, deviser. You would have to use 'make', since maken is Dutch, its a good old saxon word.

especially since make is so damn obvous! I looked at th elink, he also made a mistake, rest is French too. Quite litterally, 'le rest du gateaux' for example. Rester is to stay in French. Anyway, interesting. It shows that 80% of the most commonly used English, becing old axon of origin, can be made up to 100% with little loss of sense. Now you should try doing it in French (allowing for common English grammar of course, which cant be replaced)
