My vote of one: GIT is NOT for "jokes" like that. It's a board for general Indian topics, cricket, cultural discussion, and cultural humour (this 'joke' has no cultural reference either). In fact, there is no place on this site for jokes like that, let alone GIT.

Reason for my vote of one right back at you: If you look at the OPs' profile, he comes from India?

He maybe an indian, that doesnt mean this kinda jokes should be posted in indian forum. Discourage him not to post that kinda jokes instead directing him to post in GIT. Or better, vote to remove it.

And? May be I should say it slow and clear again: the GIT forum is for discussing stuff that's got something to do with culture or cultural humour, general topics related to India, cricket, for and other similar stuff. If someone posts a lame joke, you don't tell them to post it in the GIT. That's not what it was meant for.

If you lived in the US you'd probably be willing to walk 5 miles, rather than deliver the parcel to the postal service - it would be delivered faster, and probably in one piece. I checked out the link you posted; I've never seen a larger collection of humor that isn't in the least entertaining. It seems to be a site entirely devoted to jokes that aren't funny. I find that interesting, since this site has a long history of failing to appreciate jokes posted by people from India and closely allied countries in the region. It finally dawns on my dim mind that this goes beyond a mere failure to translate from Malayalam to English; this is a cultural disconnect rooted in disparate worldviews. Methinks that this matter requires some thought... On the other hand, the site features an ad for a web service provider that offer free SQL Server applications - that deserves a second look. The price is right... :-D

                      Will Rogers never met me.

Nish has suggested that people tell these jokes in the Indian forum. He suggests westerners have heard them all already as kids. He's wrong, the jokes I told as an 8 year old were a LOT funnier than this.

ROTFL, in fact, I do. But, the point is, as I showed with my link, Nish told us that's where they should go, and that you guys would find them funny. Several found the '7 ate 9' joke funny below, thus proving his point. I pretended to laugh the first time my son told it, and still pretend to laugh now. Quite simply, what are we to do when an Indian tells a lame joke ? Should we just abuse them, is that what you'd prefer ? Isn't that what the Indian forum was created for, to help stop people bashing clueless Indians who post things that Westerns find stupid, on the basis that they think they will win them friends ?

Yeah, but this is too much of crap to be moved anywhere. You didn't get my point, did you?

Yes, your point is that there's all these weird double standards you want me to take, and somehow know when to apply them. Why is there no Australian forum ? We have culture, and a particular outlook ? I'm led to believe it's because of the cultural gap between India and the West, and the help some people in India need to figure out how to post in a socially acceptable way. Yet, when we suggest they go and ask you guys for help instead of just abusing them, you complain again. Make your bloody minds up.

Not the first time he's taken this stance, so I doubt it's a question of getting the point.

Yeah, I've noticed that too. Doesn't bother me much, but it's funny how every time he thinks he's correct and everyone of us is wrong.

I'm still here, you know. And it's fine, I understand that it's probably hard to see that you're being a hypocrite. And I can see how self righteousness is about the only refuge you can hope for, you sure can't defend your attitude.
