That's why it would be cool to have the sources, to modify all that :) And Kazaalite is really the p2p interface.

Odd how much faster Kazzalite is than Kazaa. Using Kazaaa the searches took forever and downloading was a PITA. On the other hand in the last 5 minutes I have downloaded three files I wanted totalling 4 megs! Pretty damned good for my line.

Intel, and you're gonna think this is wierd when you hear it, has released a set of class libraries for .NET that they have called the Intel P2P Accelerator kit. I tried to download it again last night, but the site was undergoing some maintenance. I'll try again and get you the link. With that, we could set up a server somewhere that just manages connections and then we could have our own CodeProject P2P network.

After a while, Kazaa upgraded its network, but this time didn't sell the rights to Morpheus, who was totally dependant of it. However, because Kazaa is really dirty with its spywares (Kazaa needed money fast, it's a crisis period after all), someone cleaned the code, probably by decompilation: Kazaalite was born. Because many users of Kazaa network use now the lite version, Kazaa may loose a lot of its diversity and its success it has now if it tries to counter this "piracy". And it may give an opportunity to a new challenger :cool:
