I really don't understand why people are so worked up over Bin Laden getting killed. Yes, I'm glad they nailed him, but in the end, nothing changes - for anyone. The terrorists are still out there and even more determined than ever to wreak havoc, and we are still out here making targets of ourselves. While people are out there celebrating, the terrorists are still doing their jobs. The price of libery is paid through eternal vigilance and the ability to act. My advice remains the same - arm yourselves. EDIT =========== I am also of the opinion that it's time for us to leave Afghanistan and Iraq. We did what we said we were there to do, and it's time to widthdraw.

Part of it is showing that people like that will be found so the little people will know they aren't safe and it removes a figurehead. It may even start a bit of a power struggle and save western bullets.

OBL getting shot in the head doesn't stop terrorism, we all know this but it is nice to see a prick get nailed in his end every now and then. :)

I'm just saying that if anyone thinks it's okay to let down their guard, they are sadly mistaken.

Assuming you really see some terrorists coming, would you really feel comfortable about most people you know getting ready to play minutemen? Most people I know I would hand nothing more lethal than a broom.

Most people that *I* know? Yeah, I'm comfortable with that. Most people *you* know? If they have the means, yeah - I'm comfortable with that. Most of the people *I* know are equipped, trained, and experienced to react, defend, and even transition to an offensive posture. The people I hang with aren't exactly a "wait till they find us" kind of group.

I think a lot of it has to do with closure. Someone had to pay for what happened and he was the main target. Just my 2 sense.

From what I've seen, their command and control structure is pretty good (they kicked the Russians out of Afghanistan and are doing a pretty good job on the US there as well), and if anyone thinks an order of succession wasn't established immediately after 9/11 are sadly mistaken. There will be little/no effect on their operations, and for all we know, Osama's death may have been the trigger to activate a number of sleeper cells around the world. Because that means airport security is supposed to go back to the way it was, the patriot act is supposed to get canned, and all this anti-terrorism, infinite war stuff is supposed to end. The goal was to catch or kill him, so it is over right? And yes, I am the conservative.

History about Al-Qaeda and Osama bin Laden is quite bitter. The orgainzation and the character were created by US government to defeat Russia. Afterwards, nothing happened. Then all of a sudden 9/11 took place. After this incident which was condemed by every society, nothing happened in US. But Afghanistan and Iraq were burnt for searching. The same is happening in Pakistan now.

Facinating. I know enough people, you would surely have some colorful name for their types, who are plain too dumb or to clumsy to be entrusted with any weapons. And arming them probably poses more of a threat than any terrorists.

Call me cynical if you want to...

Al Qaeda is an odd one, the best way to look at it is as a fast food franchise: Fancy committing a terrorist atrocity? We'll train you to our standards and you can slap the al-Qaeda stamp of approval on it. That way the cell gets more notariety if they succede, and al-Qaeda looks bigger than it really is. I even heard the view expressed here that al-Qaeda doesn't exist in any meaninful sense, it is more a figurehead organisation. The hope is that with the charismatic [apparently] OBL gone, they'll attract fewer nut-jobs willing to murder in the name of whatever. The problem is, as you correctly point out, there is an increased likeliehood of reprisals in the short term at least.

Your need to really do research on the history of Ayman al-Zawahiri and Bin Laden. Anyways, nothing happened? Then all of a sudden 9/11? How about the USS Cole and the Embassies bombings? Or the 1993 World Trade Center Bombing? I know it's not Bin Laden in WTC bombing in '93 but it was still a warning about the rise of Radical Islam. I don't want to turn this into a flame war. There is the BackRoom to serve the purpose.

You really think your self got 4 points ? My English is not native , I find it very hard to express my self . USA didn't have the right , to apply human rights on us , because it didn't apply human rights on Israel at Palestine . More over : USA make her self worried about Middle East , and human rights , just because She hate Islam , She Hate Leader who didn't corporate with her ! And Hollywood , show us as useless items in the movies . Again When USA Invade Iraq she killed more than 100,000 , and make the other 100,000 homeless and for Afghanistan you talking about beating woman , how about the woman that get raped by USA soldiers ? What about drug hat every USA home has ? What about the drugs between USA school kids ? In Palestine : Yes no direct involved Like I gave you a gun and you kill your neighbor ? You think you will be the only one responsible for that , or I am responsible with you ? what about the USA money help for Israel ? Iran : they fought Iran for nuclear peaceful nuclear they built not for human rights ! Please : TELL USA , to fix her mistake before searching for ours mistakes and judge us on them ! This talking is not for you in personal , I don't hate you , Nor I don't hate any USA citizen I just love peace , a balance ... People like you and me don't make wars , political are ! , And from our country middle east , you didn't see the women , and the kids , you only see our political and soldier .

I know nothing , I know nothing ... RIP Osama Bin Laden, you were thorn in USA throat , And you will always be ...
