Just to prove that we are an independent nation and will not use the names given to cities by Britishers. Only thing I do not understand is that it took over 50 years to do so. Probably authorities felt Britishers may comeback and then they will have to re-rename the places.

Who am I to be allowed to shoot on people whatever they intentions are ? It is not because a bunch of bastards do it that I am to be as bad as they are: call me naive and idealist, I prefer the solution where noone has any kind of weapons, instead of everybody being armed. But I also know we disagree about that :)

I really don't understand why people are so worked up over Bin Laden getting killed. Yes, I'm glad they nailed him, but in the end, nothing changes - for anyone. The terrorists are still out there and even more determined than ever to wreak havoc, and we are still out here making targets of ourselves. While people are out there celebrating, the terrorists are still doing their jobs. The price of libery is paid through eternal vigilance and the ability to act. My advice remains the same - arm yourselves. EDIT =========== I am also of the opinion that it's time for us to leave Afghanistan and Iraq. We did what we said we were there to do, and it's time to widthdraw.

Facinating. I know enough people, you would surely have some colorful name for their types, who are plain too dumb or to clumsy to be entrusted with any weapons. And arming them probably poses more of a threat than any terrorists.

Most people like that also would find carrying a firearm every day too much of a hassle even if they went out and bought one in the first place. Sheepdogs are largely a self selecting group.

The key is that I don't have to "run and get" a weapon. Head shots are for show-offs. If you want to do real damage real fast, center-mass is the only way.

So you're using the 1911 for a central cavity shot? Headshots are good for zombies and/or countering body armor, though. Especially if you only have a pistol on you.

Assuming you really see some terrorists coming, would you really feel comfortable about most people you know getting ready to play minutemen? Most people I know I would hand nothing more lethal than a broom.

Well, a head shot is the only thing that will kill a zombie, but we're talking about terrorists here. The first two mags for both of my pistols are loaded with hollowpoints which aren't as efective when you're trying to make a head shot. You need penetration, so ball ammo is really the only answer. If you're fortuunate enough to be afforded the use of your rifle, then a 5,56 NATO bullet may drop enough at 200 yards that if you aimed for the head, you'd probably end up hitting the target pretty close to his scrotum. Same general result - you just made a head-shot. :)

Hardly applicable. Since then, they've maintained more of a live-and-let-live philosophy (if you ignore the door-to-door bible thumpers that insist we all need to be a christian in one form or another). Of course, I haven't been bothered by that sort since the infamous meet-em-naked-at-the-door-with-a-shotgun-in-my-hand incident of the early 90's. Word must have gotten around.

Most people like that also would find carrying a firearm every day too much of a hassle even if they went out and bought one in the first place. Sheepdogs are largely a self selecting group.

Good morning! Yes, that's right. It takes a little time to get used to, especially if it's not just a small pistol. Just immagine everybody running around with assault rifles on their shoulders and there are enough dopes who would forget them everywhere like they now do umbrellas. Back in my military time, I used to collect rifles with no apparent owner. The boys never disappointed me. There were always a few frantically looking for the rifle they put down 'for just a moment'.
