I would not be suprised if any of the following reveal they already have them in the next 5 years . Japan, Indonesia, Nigeria, Brazil, Bangladesh, Egypt, Syria, Iran, Georgia (sp), Canada, Argentina, North Korea, South Korea, Burma, Vietnam, Zimbabwe.

Korea will likely be the next country to produce (i.e. made at home) a nuclear bomb, IF they turn on their reactor so as to produce fissible material. I believe Japan already has produced a bomb as has Israel (though the latter is no secret, even if denied.) But to actually have them, given that quite a bit of fissible material from the former Soviet Union is unnacounted for, that's anyone's guess. But, it's not the end of the world. However crazy MADD seems, it works. And for those inclined to suicide, they fortunately don't have enough weapons to "end the world" (even symbolically). (However, it has been pointed out that rather than attacking a city, a bad guy could do a high atmosphere burst, which, due to EMT, would destroy most of the civilian satelites and cause serious damage to civilian communications and fine electronics on the ground. This would damage the world's financial structure more than vaporizing any given city in the world.)

Heck -- Mugabe doesn't need to develop a nuke -- seems like he's already doing pretty well at killing his constituents by starvation.. Yes, it is all rather depressing. My cousins are in Zim and I lived there for 5 years, so I feel for the whole situation.
