Sequel or S-Q-L, depending on who you ask. If you're talking about SQL Server, then "Sequel." If you're talking about MySQL, then "My S-Q-L." Jon Sagara When I want something, I just go out and buy it. That makes me a go-getter. -- My sister

I'll refrain from making a similar comment about your sentance structure, and simply say: he asked for my personal opinion, not the dictionary pronounciation. Being from a country that reguarly butchers words like data and aluminium I hardly think you are qualified to lecture on pronounciation! ;) :laugh:

"es kvé el" in english it is something like "s kwe l" (if you don't know how to read this you can use Start->Control Panel->Speech->Text To Speech :cool: ) i'm only pointer to myself

Well, some people use the "ess cue ell" pronunciation, but I'm a hard-headed mule diehard fan of pronouncing it like "sequel" because that's the name SQL came from initially when IBM created it in the 70's. It was originally called SEQUEL (Structured English Query Language), but had to be changed for copyright reasons. All the sudden, we got SQL. Jeremy Falcon Imputek Excrement escapes everyone - even elders.
