You'd get a bunch of dogs wandering around saying "hungry! hungry! HUNGRY!" and then pointing at restuarant menus and wagging their tails.

The Nazis tried to train dogs to talk, read and spell to help them win World War II, it has been revealed. [^] I would have thought teaching them to rip enemy soldiers throats out would have sufficed but aparently not, the Germans thought teching dogs to count and talk would be better: (ruff voice) "Handen hogh! Ze war is over for you two Tommys!" Cant see it myself, especially as they hadnt taught the dogs to use machine guns. :)

I wonder if that's what Frederick Forsyth was referring to when he wrote "The Dogs of War" in 1974???

No respectable dog would say something like that around here. They would of course get in after a small talk beginning with "Vee got vayz of ...."

Interesting. Would you also care to explain why the dogs obviously heve been to foreign radio propaganda? Please have a seat, our talk will certainly take a little longer. And please don't mind the civilian who will also listen to your explanations. Pretend he's not here at all.

Do you REALLY want someone (or an animal) with a limited vocabulary and poor manual deterity anywhere near a firearm? I've seen that mix first-hand at my local firing range, and it's a truly scary thing to see.

Really? cause I've heard that all dogs instinctively understand German. It's one of those funny languages like that.

They might understand German, but when it comes to talking... Have you ever heard a Dutch accent! :omg:

They didn't, they just invaded Poland and then France declared war on Germany.

Soooooo France would have declared war on Germany anyway?? Just because??? I'd say it was Germanys provocation and, therefore, their fault.

Interesting. Would you also care to explain why the dogs obviously heve been to foreign radio propaganda? Please have a seat, our talk will certainly take a little longer. And please don't mind the civilian who will also listen to your explanations. Pretend he's not here at all.

Well, its like this: Now, the Dutch accent, all that throat clearing 'g' sound they make, its the dogs natural pronounciation, all to do with the length of tongue I believe. Well, that and the teeth. So even though you take German Sheppard through intensive German courses they sound like they have been chewing a stick with lose bark, I am sure you are aware of the noise a dog makes trying to get the bark out of its gullet, well thats Dutch you see. Its just instinctive for them. As for the Dative, Genative, and Accusative cases, any right minded person (animal) would do their best to ignore them totally. After all English did, and look how succesfull thats become. :) Of course we, the English, didnt train dogs to learn English. We didnt have the time since teaching our Empire to speak it properly was hard enough. But at least they made better soldiers. :)
