$100 for a Taxi!?

If I could just decipher the bus schedule and ensure it is running late enough for me, I'd use that (hundreds of people sharing the cost drops the price to $5 for a day pass).

I considered renting a car, but then I realized I'd have to drop it off at the same location (airport) and would have to take a taxi to the Greyound station ($40-$50). There might be the possibility of dropping it off near the Greyhound station and then getting a taxi, but the price comes out to be around the same, but with more hassle.

You can drop off a car rental at any of the companies branches normally. At least that is how I know it works.

ROTFL. We bought tickets that gave us vouchers for meals, and saved a bit of money on what it would cost otherwise. It was part of the fun to try all the restaurants, the one in Epcot with the wall of fish was best, IMO.

I'll probably just be getting a single park pass and going to Magic Kingdom, so I don't think I'll be able to go to the Epcot park, but I'm sure I'll be back to Disney World someday to visit the other parks.

If you've not bought park tickets, the combo tickets are widely available and cheaper than buying there on the day.

OK. Magic Kingdom is nice, and it's the 'classic' park. The buffet restaurant there is awesome, I rarely eat the food in a buffet, I just hit the desserts, but the entrees there were all really nice. I'm not sure, if I was hitting one park, that I'd choose Magic Kingdom, though.

Well I don't know much about the parks, as I've never been. What park would you choose? I'm a thrills kind of guy, and Magic Kingdom seemed to have the most rides. Space Mountain and Splash Mountain are at the top of my list, the former because it was my favorite ride at Disneyland when I was younger and the latter because it was closed when I was at Disneyland and I never got to go on it.

So I'm in the process of planning my vacation to Disney World, and I need transportation between a the airport, a hotel, Disney World, and the Greyhound bus station (Disney World is just the start of the trip). 2-4 taxi rides (depending on if I feel like walking from/to the hotel) that total perhaps 40 miles. Using an online estimator I came across, it will cost over $100 just for the taxi. :wtf: I'm about to look into local transit (e.g., bus / subway), but do any of you have a better idea for how to get around more cheaply in Orlando (sadly, walking 40 miles is not an option)?
Doesn't seem that much. If I get a taxi home from town (about 8 miles) it's usually about £35 ($50 maybe? not sure what the exchange rate is atm)

I would look into hotel shuttles, I believe most of the major hotels down there have them?? Not sure but when I go there I see hotel shuttles. I only live a few hours away but haven't been there in many years, since my kids were young so my info may be outdated...like me. :)

That's about fair. Maybe rent a car or get a limo (people at my work do that because for long distances it's about the same price as a taxi). Not a fullsize limo, just the sedan.
