Quite a few from the UK, and I know at least one from Australia. Of course, with over 8m members, that's less than a drop in the bucket. :)

It defaults to the US, so this is not a good indication.

Most of the members just signed up so they can download the code that goes with articles.

So true, and it is okay if they don't have anything truly interesting to say.

Does anybody (directed to the folks at CP) know of the geographic distribution of the 8 million members in CP?

An interesting question, Mehdi, and I would also be curious about how many site members are expatriates living/working outside their country of birth. best, Bill (expatriate from the U$A aka MallBurgerLand)

I was just wondering if CP needed to go down for maintenance, what would be an appropriate time based on the users geolocation and for how long that window would be open.

It should really default to "Unknown", in the name of better statistics.

Looking at the followup question (best time for site maintenance), I think the OP just wanted to know the geographical location of the users, not their nationality.

                          Watched code never compiles.

Not necessarily, the actual time would be around 3-4 am nearest the most dense user area. I don't think we have anybody in the Pacific.
