2000 pound coin. I've got a jar in front of me with [guesstimate] £10 in coppers, I'm sure I'll find an early 70's in there too.

Take all your coins out your wallet/purse. If they have dates, let us know the oldest one you got. Sorry, special or trick coins do not count. Mine is from 1991, and it is going into vending machine now :)

Instead of dates, then you could post the bullet's calibre instead. :)

How long is bullet good for? Does it expire at some age?

A bullet, like a coin, is good until it is spent. :-D

I have a 2p coin[^] from 1971 - the very year that Britain went decimal! It will be made of real bronze, unlike the modern copper coated steel - I may sell it for its scrap value!

Here in the states it's quite surprising what you can find in a handful of change, I still occasionally find pennies from 20's on. They still look very much the same as more contemporary pennies with Lincoln on them. My father is an avid numismatist who exhorts us to always check our change. (but tells us to forego the Canuckian coins... )

Among US coinage it certainly is. It's from the era of large cents, so it's somewhere between the size of a quarter and a half-dollar. I like to ponder the history that coin has seen, who may have handled it, etc.

Take all your coins out your wallet/purse. If they have dates, let us know the oldest one you got. Sorry, special or trick coins do not count. Mine is from 1991, and it is going into vending machine now :)

Wow, I'm glad you asked. I happen to have a 1944 silver nickel, minted in Philadelphia. The coins are usually an alloy of copper and nickel, but during WW II, nickel was so important to the war effort that for three years the coins were made of an alloy of copper, silver and manganese. It's in fine condition, too. I've been collecting coins for decades, and these things are rare: most were pulled from circulation after the war.
