If so, how do you plan to do it? Multi-boot with your existing Windows 7/Vista/XP? Or boot out of a fresh/independent drive? Or boot off an USB drive?

    Regards, Nish

I knew you with more courage, son. Just be a man, wipe out these oldies and install Win8 on a fresh and cleaned empty hard drive. A propos, John still did not find an appropriate name for Win8.

Well, when I said VM, what I was actually talking about was VHD.

Ah ok. I've never done that. So install into a VHD and then boot off that. Nice idea.

I might try it in a virtual, but if that doesn't work, I may just image my main box and try it on there.

                          I wasn't, now I am, then I won't be anymore.

I will probably create a vhd and use the boot from vhd feature in Windows 7. But I am not sure I will get time for that. Ironically I am busy with an iPad project :).

I was planning to use either the ImageX tool (if possible I have never done it before) or create a VM and then use the VHD from the VM to boot (done it before).

Ah yeah, that'll work. Installation will be slow but the boot will be much faster than in tbe VM. I may try this too.

If so, how do you plan to do it? Multi-boot with your existing Windows 7/Vista/XP? Or boot out of a fresh/independent drive? Or boot off an USB drive?

Seeing as our office OS is just now struggling into Weven I don't see any urgency to get into W8. As for fiddling with it at home, too many other things take up my time so nope...
