One in Hungary one in the UK? Of course if banks do run out of cash and foreclose on mortgages the effect on the UK will be so dramatic that it will implode.

3 in Hungary, one in UK. I'll not post any more on this thread, I wanted to clarify the facts but will not enter into a conversation with you.

So, came to the UK what, 16 years ago. Got a job in banking IT, bought a house here and three in Hungary which you rent out?

OK, didnt realise conversation with me was so scary. :) Perhaps you might credit part of your self-congratulatory success to the collapse of the Berlin wall, and having a country close by that has an ecconomy so much more advanced than your own that you have been able to milk it successfully. Because had the first of these two been different you would probably have been one of those protesting outside some government establishment about unfairness. And if the second hadnt been there you would be free, but stuck in a shit economy and probably out of work. --edit-- by the way, it isnt me downvoting you

Unfortunately this is neither the first nor the nastiest protest to date. For me, they're unwashed mofus who don't like 'them'; whoever 'them' may be. They protest about BigCo using their BigCo computers, sending messages over networks provided by BigCo, wear BigCo clothes and buy from BigCo grocers. They love the benefits but can't stand that someone has done well as a result of their greed - for the latest computer, cheapest clothes, unseasonal fruit, etc - so desperatly need to blame others to placate their guilt. F'em I say. F'em with taxes. F'em any which way.

Ya see, I don't mind a person (or even a coproration) doing well, but when a company makes BILLIONS in profits, that means they're payroll isn't big enough. *Companies* are NOT individuals. GE (the company) not only paid zero taxes last year (and the year before , ad nauseum), but they got a refund. I'm sure the company big wigs paid their own personal individual tax bills, but GE *the company* paid nothing. GE *the company* can't even point to relevant job creation numbers to offset that fact.

So why go after the city? If it was you and you could legally reduce your liabilty to $0, would you? Or would you big-up and and the full wack without deductions? The governments over the last twenty plus years have avoided any tax reforms that would actually make BigCo play their real taxes.

My company hasn't said anything about them, as far as I've noticed... But my coworkers talk about them now and then, mostly just trying to figure them out. Personally, I think it's excellent. If I didn't have a day job, I'd probably be down there with them... During the day, at least... I'm not crazy enough to sleep in a public square (A small one, at that). I stopped by there once a week ago Saturday, and it was pretty cool to see.

You mean the one that says he isnt Hungarian. Yes, odd though, why he took an ex Hungarian plated car back to Hungary last week... In any case, I am only going on the evidence available, he is welcome to clarify if he likes. :)

I was really looking to hear what you'd experienced at your company since I knew you worked for a hedge fund company or something like that. Thanks. I support what they're doing to. You must be slow or something - EVERY human has this trait, REGARDLESS of what country they call home. It's a matter of survival, and goes a lot farther back in human history than 1776. In fact, it goes all the way back before the discovery of fire. It's most definitely NOT restricted to the U.S.

I know, John... It was only a -2, so had to be a newbie or a sock puppet. Doesn't really matter. EDIT: Oh, you meant wolf's post.

Your post and its hippocracy was a great example of this.

I find it more useful to look for another day job. I think the organizers forgot how fucking cold it gets in our major financial centers (NY / Chicago) These won't last past December.

It's good to know you're married to your country and not ideals or principals. There are good things about this country, but they're rapidly being destroyed by the fearful and bigoted, etc that bring up token phrases like yours.
