I'm a computer operator. At least, according to this test: http://www.cs.utah.edu/~scook/tech/hacker.htm[^] When you take it, you must put your score in the subject line of your response.

It's a version of the Purity Test. And it's pretty old. Halon dump - check Paper tape - check Taking the drive out for a walk - check Standards group - barred for life Wrecked the flyback transformer (old VGA bug) - check Contributed to the Hackers Dictionary - check HP11C - check (RPN dammit) Toggled boot boot - check (fingers still after 20 years) Caps lock - check, got the patch from sysinternals.com to turn it off, too. Self modifiying code - check, and right now, too God, does anyone remember Altair? And why it was named that?

The test seems kind of dated to me. I'd probably score half what I did if I didn't spend six months hacking into a VAX mainframe in a local college, while simultaneously failing a Computer Operators course because I thought it was beneath me. A bit historical. :-) you gotta be a bit dated to score high. I appreciate the phreaking mentions and all, remembet building Minix, and doing self modifying code on the 6502-- sometimes via straight hex in the monitor. but *sigh*... no mention of my love the Atari and TOS. I miss her. sniff. ;-) Oh yeah. and vector displays, those RULED. LOL.

I'm not old enough for a lot of the questions (although I understand the majority of the topics).

I'm a computer operator. At least, according to this test: http://www.cs.utah.edu/~scook/tech/hacker.htm[^] When you take it, you must put your score in the subject line of your response.
