Star Trek v Star Wars

Strictly speaking isn't it more along the lines of 'Is science fiction or science fantasy better?'. They are both excellent in very different ways.

Neither of them are science fiction. They both require FTL travel, which is impossible, therefore rendering them both within the confines of Fantasy.

Entirely disagree: ST is science fiction since it is of our universe whilst SW is not. Both forms can include elements of speculative fiction (like FTL which is thought, at present, to be impossible) but SW takes place in an alternate universe thereby rendering it fantasy rather than fiction.

Not quite. Folding space may very well be possible and may allow travelling faster than light without violating relativity. The problem is that this would be a very destructive process which requires the energy equivalent of a star mass. It's at the moment (and for any forseeable future) not even remotely possible for us to obtain such an amount of energy or put it to any use. And in this one case it was fiction that inspired physicists to take a look if there might be any science in it. The 'confines of Fantasy' appear to be a moving target :)
And from the clouds a mighty voice spoke:
"Smile and be happy, for it could come worse!"And I smiled and was happy
And it came worse. -
But doesn't Ensteins Theory allow the Warp Bubble. So since Star Trek uses the warp bubble it is fiction not fantasy lol
No. It allows for a warp in Space/Time, but not a warp bubble. Once the bubble was established it would cease to exist with our universe of space/time.

Are you saying alternate universes aren't real? There are some very eminent physicists who might disagree with you there...

To think that in every dimension, every possibility is played out -- hell, there's probably a really, really weird dimension where you're better-looking than me.

If you mean that you cannot travel over more space than light in any given time, then yes. But it may be able to fold space, creating a shortcut. The problem is, that the only known way to distort space is in the vicinity of a large mass (or, due to E = mc^2, the mass equivalent in energy). To put it very simple: Imagine space like a long carpet. When you stand at one end, you could fold it so that you can reach the other end with a single step. Space would be 'elastic' and resume it's original shape once you eliminate the influence that folded it.

Ok... this is really a different league... honestly, Ms. Fisher and Mr. Shatner... how old are you? (I really would like to see, if Leia dumps Solo for Kirk... we currently have a rerun of TOS, and it's quite amazing, how often Kirk got a female in hold  ) PS: Star Trek rules

Yep, Kirk got all the girls, could defeat any Klingon (or Romulan or monster of the week) and had the neat ability of talking computers into commiting suicide.

Kirk vs. (Vader & Deathstar)...
Hey, Anakin, you look familiar... your mother... she's from Tatooine, right? Mr. Spock, when have we been there?
