Has anyone met a CP member just by switching jobs?

As hard as it might be to believe, I rarely meet anyone (programmers) locally that even knows about Codeproject.

I've yet to meet someone as well who knows it. Update: I take it back. I have worked with one person who has had articles published here and elsewhere.

Both at my last job and here, I have found CP members. They don't know for sure who I am though. :suss:

I think your concern about multiple personalities is valid: the 8,000,000+ members are actually from about 80 households. :)

One day a workmate suggested me CodeProject as useful source of programming info. I said enthusiastically: "Oh, yes, I know it. I've written a couple of articles". He didn't mention CP again, I don't know why.

I was on a previous assignment for eight months before realizing I was about two hundred feet from another member. On my current assignment, I hung my 2010 MVP certificate in my cubicle and one person (my supervisor) pointed at it and gave me a thumbs up.

No, but I did introduce a colleague to the CodeProject. He is a bit of a electronics hack and is always busy fettling. When the CodeProject was running the Hardware competition I suggested he writes an article and submit it. Off he went, joined the Codeproject, wrote the article, submitted it and won the 1st Place prize of a robotics kit. Which he kindly gave to me for the kids. He won with this article; Radio Control Transmitter - Joystick[^]

Well, I (together with Rajesh) hijacked many threads, but unfortunately the (former) workmate never posted here at CP. BTW why do you think so? :-D

I have never met anyone who knows CP. The only other French CPian I know on CP is toxcct, but I am not sure he is still here. So the probability is really low.

Yes, a number of times though it is not as well known as it ought to be. You'd think, with 8.5m members it would be better known - perhaps CM needs to do some active marketing!

I haven't switched jobs, so the answer is NO. However, a few years ago I mentioned something to my son and found out he is a member here and has posted an article. The grandkids make sure we rarely talk about work when we get together.

You are right. 99.9999% of the programmers who are members of Codeproject live either in India or China and are looking for free code or help with their homework! ;P

One day a workmate suggested me CodeProject as useful source of programming info. I said enthusiastically: "Oh, yes, I know it. I've written a couple of articles". He didn't mention CP again, I don't know why.

If you had told him how you found code snippets there that you were able to use in your peoject, you would have had a great conversation going with him!

Yes, a number of times though it is not as well known as it ought to be. You'd think, with 8.5m members it would be better known - perhaps CM needs to do some active marketing!
