I'm in the middle of a Family Tree application, just to give myself practice and experience. I know it won't be worth much of anything for resale, but that's not the point. I'm also looking for an idea for a new application, but have so far come up dry. I want it to be a Windows application; I'm already working on a couple internet apps, so I don't need another one of those. I want it to be complex and substantial, and show initiative. So far, I've been having kind of a "Goldilocks" problem, wherein the ideas I think of are either way too simple or too complex for one person. I am just starting work on a WSH (Windows Scripting Host) IDE. It will allow users to edit and debug their VBScript/JavaScript/etc. WSH scripts. It will support such editing features as; syntax highlighting, intellisence like auto-completion and time permitting, a spell checker. The debugger part will provide all the expected standard functionality like setting break points, etc. –- as you can see there are not a whole lot of details yet, I need to do allot more research into the new XML based WSH project files, and what the new functionality that WSH version 5.6 brings in to the mix. I'm not sure if there’s much to be jealous about here, considering I wont see any money till the whole thing is complete -- and even then, who knows... but it will be interesting :cool: -Ben --------- On the topic of code with no error handling -- It's not poor coding, it's "optimistic" ;)

[Server] Uses TCP/IP Server with redundency, core uses IOCP. [Client] Client (information displays), displays many types of page formats: Custom, Web, Movie, Advertisement, Clock and using a lot of GDI, I now supporting GDI+ (found a few bugs in the beta). [Extras] The studio uses MFC Doc/View to design pages, the studio has a VB style interface. This also a security module and auditing module. [Database] The database is ORACLE, we use ADO for the interface layer to the database.

Not cool really, but I'm working on a Holiday Call Centre system. Converting a Fox Pro version into a HTML version. Currently trying to get their existing java servlets to talk to my asp code on IIS. (Not nice and not clever) I'm pushing as hard as I can to get them to move over to .NET (as I want to work with some cool toys for once :-) )
