Police handcuff 6-year-old girl in Georgia[^] I hope she'll do fine in Guantanamo. With a little luck she will be back before turning 21.

There's nothing wrong with a girl of 6 years being given a chance to learn a second language, and Dari or Pashto[^] are not readily available in most American schools. By the time she is pardoned, she'll probably have offers from the State Department to work for them as an interpreter. Not a bad career move for a kid with only a kindergarten education! :-D

I haven't read it but was she carrying a gun at the time and a belt full of heroin? Don't pick on the US though. Here in the UK we have feral packs of kids roaming around estates where six-year-olds are quite normal.

How did that joke go yesterday? I will hold your monkey? No, I would not. If one of those little brats started to act like a monkey, then I would also call the police and let them handle it. No point in trying to catch that kid and then getting dragged before a court for having been 'brutal'-

I don't want my kids to go to a school where the teachers are not able to handle them. No need to get 'brutal', I assume a teacher is able to handle such a situation. But it's the 69' generation that is now teaching our kids. All needs to be discuss - no solution without everyone to agree.

You have only two choices when somebody loses control: Stand by and wait until it's over or you try to get a hold of and restrain that person. In the first case you don't really deal with anything and the second case requires at least some force. There will probably be a struggle and very quickly more than just some force may be needed. How quickly would the same parents who are now wondering about calling the police have accused the teachers of using too much force when dealing with their little brat? I really would not want to risk it.

The child was also observed "biting the doorknob of the office"

I'd have let someone else sort her out too.

You don't have kids I assume. The only 'force' one needs to get a hold on those 6yo is the voice and authority.

anxious? You could have thrown a chocolate bar or some gummy bears into the office. I bet that would have worked. According to the state of behavior my kids had over eastern (permanent sugar shock), I'm pretty sure some other kids I deal with have that state constantly throughout the year.

"They don't have no business calling the police and handcuffing my child," said Salecia's father, Earnest Johnson.

Police handcuff 6-year-old girl in Georgia[^] I hope she'll do fine in Guantanamo. With a little luck she will be back before turning 21.

The girl was released to Ruff after numerous attempts to reach her parents failed, the police report said. Swicord said his department still has not heard from the girl's mother or father. But the parents have spoken to reporters. This should give you an idea as to the type of home life she has.

You don't have kids I assume. The only 'force' one needs to get a hold on those 6yo is the voice and authority.

My presumption is that you are talking about children you know and without consideration for the vast numbers of which you have never had to deal with.
