Start at WHAT! :omg: How much noise can you actually get in a digital signal over a distance of 3 feet? And why aren't you more worried about stopping it at source instead? Was it the noise source that killed the guy with the big beard?

I'm sure it's worth every penny, and makes those 1's and 0's come in crystal clear... Like so clear that you can see the little serifs on the 1's... That site IS a joke, right? I mean, I know some people have trouble understanding the concept of digital vs. analog, but people can't really be that stupid, can they? Wait... Forget I asked.

Gez, I thought Monster cables were a sham. This takes the cake! Plus, you're out ~$600 just to try it out.

You have to ask that after venturing into QA territory?

Yes, that price is outrageous. Yet considering how many USB problems I've tracked to crappy USB cables, I'd love some solid engineering that meeds on the middle ground Price-wise. On a logarithmic scale. It's really not fun to have a "permanently malfunctioning device" shipped back to you, only to figure out everything is working fine, but the customer did not, as instructed, try another cable first. Some Background: USB offers three basic protocols:

                  • Interrupt - untrue to its name, it is polled relgulary by the host, and provides frequent small data packets, such as from a mouse or keyboard.
                  • Streaming - you can reserve the bandwidth you need, and it's guaranteed, but there's no error detection.
                  • Bulk - no guaranteed bandwidth (all bulk transfers share everything left available by streming reservations, but at least 20% of bus bandwidth), but if a packet isn't transfered correctly, you do get an error.

Virtually all audio applications use streaming. Guess what happens if your mobile phone dialing out puts some spikes on the cable? Exactly, packets get dropped.

Nope - no problems involving dirty bits, I'm afraid. I'm a programmer, don't get to go near any of those... :((

I was going to say the same thing. Surely a satire? Especially this bit:

All Cynosure's are hand built, burned in, and evaluated in one of my reference systems, by me personally.

Ah, nothing like a fine, hand-crafted USB cable. You can really see the workmanship.
