Recently, there have been "articles" that are no more than a code snippet, yet people are giving these "articles" 5 star ratings. One example is: Calling a C# method using jQuery on the client side[^] The last thing you would call this is an article. It should be a tip. But that's not really my point. Take a look at the ratings at the bottom of the page. Are they giving a 5 star rating because it was done by a woman? Is it because they are from the same ethnic group? Neither of these should be a criteria for a rating. In fact, they shouldn't be a criteria for ANYTHING. Rate an article on its CONTENT, NOT WHO WROTE IT!!!! I gave one example, but there are tons of these 5 star articles now in CodeProject. I fear that the integrity of this site will suffer if this practice continues. It will diminish the entire article rating system, and diminish the site.

When you vote on an article you are voting on the content of the article and how it pertains to the subject and category, as well as the structure.

Although I gave this as one example, but there are dozens of cases where this is happening on (actual) articles. I'm not on a high horse. Never was. I'll refrain from worrying about the intergrity of the site ever again. If you're not worried, I'm not.

Ahhhh - possibly this is more an issue with the mobile site than the article. As I'm browsing the main site itself, I see that this is a Tip and not an article. Perhaps a suggestion needs to be raised on the Site Bugs / Suggestions to include this information.

Please see this thread[^]. The best way to improve quality, I feel, is for people who have great ideas and great plans for projects to take the time to sit down and write articles on them. That's how we'll push things forwards.

Well first off I didn't ask for an explanation. What I asked for was a link that specified exactly what you claimed in what I responded to. Second what you posted does not in fact say what you claimed in the post to which I quoted. Your post might in fact be a reasonable interpretation of what it should say. But that isn't the same as actually saying it. So is there a link some place where it says what you posted?
