thanks :) yep, i scan them with an Acer 2720S film scanner. i scan directly from the slide (or negative in the case of the "girl in the rain"). then i post-process them in Photoshop (resize, crop, etc). -c

Frankly I find it totally sickening that so many people have gone out marching in support of Saddam Hussain being allowed to just ignore the rest of the world telling him to disarm. What the hell do they think they are doing?

John Burton wrote: Frankly I find it totally sickening that so many people have gone out marching in support of Saddam Come on man, dont think in a binary way; we don't live in a world of black and white. These folks aren't supporting Saddam, the are against what they view as an unwanted military action. John Burton wrote: What the hell do they think they are doing? They are peacfully and legaly making their voices heard. They have a right to thier view just as you do. Isn't this the whole idea on which modern western contrys are based; rule by representation rather than rule by force or extortion. John Burton wrote: allowed to just ignore the rest of the world telling him to disarm Now you are being pedantic and obtuse. The world wants a dissarmed Saddam yes. But obiously, if you saw the UN voting, they don't want a war. All these people are doing is urging their crimnals politicans to look and work hard for non-war solutions. [edit] BTW... I do think who ever voted you down is full of crap. [/edit] "Veni, Vidi, Booyah!" - Ceasar

Well, we are back from it early, having left before it got dark (And any colder! Damn it was freezing - typical grey English day). I have never seen so many people in one place before - they are estimating around 2 million at the moment. We were running up and down along the route to get photo's of the various points, rather than in the crowd, and they just kept coming and coming. Unbelievable. And all in a good, peaceful mood. I hope it stays that way as the evening wears on. So were any other CPian's either there, or at one of the other protests around the world? Sorry I couldn't allow my :bob: shirt to be seen - he was warmly wrapped up under 1 jersey and 2 jackets. :-O Here are a couple of the shots London Protest[^]. What a shame the blue sky they promised for today was replaced with heavy grey clouds. Oh well - it was one of the most interesting days of my life so far

I have no experience with photographing crowds, having grown up in the bush, so when I saw how grey the day was I decided to just concentrate on the composition and the people in the shots. I did however buy some monkey nuts on the way home, and will be experimenting with the filter on squirrels tomorrow, whatever the weather :)

As my earlier camera (film), it's very difficult to take pictures of my kids, as often they move and wasted so many rolls. One more reason going for Digital camera is no need to scan/crop/... With Digital camera, it's so easy to upload the pictures to the web. Follow live World Cup Cricket scores here[^]

Yep, Just coming back from Montreal Anti-War protest. Around 50000 people brave enough to walk slowly on a wonderfully sunny but very cold (-20C) against the war. Lot's of famillies, old people, young people, french people, english people; and to my surprise, it was quite focussed against the war, no side stories! Thawing' Max.

I must admit, I do have even more fun with the F707 than I had with my old Ricoh, mainly because I can experiment as much as I want without paying for developing, but I would have rathered being forced into the new purchase by different means.

Wow - That's one mean camera! Mine's a Canon Powershot A40[^]...only 2 megapixel but ideal for me as it fits in my handbag easily and is pretty robust. The picture quality seems very good too. :) Anna :rose: www.annasplace.me.uk

Two things. First, you do realize you're going to make absolutly no difference in what Dumbya+BlairWitch wants to do, right? Second, your face is now probably on the offical watch list. If you want to change things, you need to buy your own political goon or have important friends in high places. Otherwise, you're just like the rest of us, a great unwashed mass. Right or wrong, that's the way it is. But hey, if you want to go out, show your displeasure at the way things are, and then go back and see how little if anything changes, that's your preogative.
