Trying to ignore the "in your face" jingoism, it seems California has passed laws restricting access to assault weapons, and giving ten year bans from gun ownership if you have proved that you shouldn't be allowed near them by shooting them at people.

You people could argue that guns are good in safe hands, and "you" are not one of the bad guys, etc. But there have been way too much of gun related crimes and I'm glad that your government at least has the balls to try and do something about it. I'm sure you'll disagree stating that the bad guys will still have guns or whatever, but this is a start. If you move out of California now, I'm sure you'll be moving between several states soon, and then perhaps will soon look to move out to may be another country. If not getting bullet magazines with not more than 10 rounds in one set, or having to report the loss or theft of your automatic assault rifle within 48 hours are your biggest problems, you're a very happy man.
