No, that's precisely the opposite of the scientific method. You start with the assumption that you don't know anything; you come up with a hypothesis, and then try to disprove it. If enough people fail to disprove it, then it becomes the accepted theory. I have a question in mind from many days.. are we alone in this universe or we have any neighbour new of far from our planet.. is there any astro scientist here who answer this question :confused::confused:

Actually the transition from Karyotes to Prokaryotes to Eukaryotes was a bigger jump, biologically speaking, than from single celled to multi. The LUCA was probably more closely related to an archaea rather than a bacteria, and was flitting around the oceans some 3.8 billion years ago. Now it is obvious that as this was a prokaryote and didn't just pop into existance it must have evolved from a simpler organism that entered some sort of simple symbiotic relationship so as to form a simple prokaryote. Proof of life extends to about 3.85 BYA, but there is evidence of life from chemical analysis of zircons from 4.4 BYA, thus meaning that life started before the LHB. Some see this as evidence that life started not once, but twice. Intriguing thought that within 100 million years of planetary formation there was life on Earth. If one accepts this theory then one must accept that life is so universally abundant that it will be the norm rather than the exception. Of course one has to factor in other biological, chemical and temporal factors as to how easy it is for intelligent life to evolve, and of course some civilisations could have risen and fallen before even the Earth was formed (Though not long before this, but that is another argument).

I work with scientists and concur with you as from my experience, as a group, they are very much driven by evidence and not opinion.
