Yeah, for some reason Ohio attracts a lot of CP members. It's as if they sign up on CP and then just move here. I have no clue why!

I actually lived in Springfield for a year, but that was a long time ago - before CP (and the Internet) existed. I have been to all the cities you mention, except for Toledo, and I am still in contact with people I know in Dayton and Columbus. I hope you guys have a great meetup. Soren Madsen

I am surprised that you thought I overlooked that. This is a conscious decision on my part to post this here :-) I will probably post a separate thread there.

I am trying to see if there are enough CPians in Central Ohio (or nearby cities) to do a meetup in or around Columbus this month. If we do have one, it will be officially backed by CodeProject. Gary, I know you are in Dayton. I assume there must be a few CPians in Columbus, Cincinnati, Dayton, Cleveland, Akron, Toledo etc. A tentative idea is to meet for food/beer and discuss technology, maybe have 2-3 mini tech sessions. If you guys are interested, please reply back to this thread. Thanks.

I'm one state and about 4.5 hours drive away from Columbus. So while I wish you the best of luck; unless you manage to pull off something that crosses my Wow! threshold I'll have to give it a pass.

I am 3 hrs 41 min away (according to Google), but I am not sure if I can make it. I don't think I can, so I wish you all the best. I can't drink yet, but my B-Day is August 16th, then I will be 21! And yes, I am interested!

We should do an Illinois one, I think there are a couple of others.

That's a good idea. However, I am not capable of organizing/managing events.
