That is the preferred option. Alas my own tooth quack indicated that this is a very serious matter that has been known to be fatal if left unchecked. He stressed the danger of delay indicating septicemia, streptococcal infection, oedema and a host of other happy outcomes. My 'prejudice' as you put it is not racist, simply that if I wanted a second rate service offering third world levels of dentistry I would use the NHS. I pay for private treatment, and have got used to the accoutrements associated with it.

I contacted my dentist in Blighty for an emergency appointment upon my return on Monday and he said to seek immediate treatment. I have no idea what kind of ju ju will be performed here, but I shall bring a black cockeral and a lock of hair with me just in case. Your not an animal! Make sure you use a Dentist recommended by your embassy, the staff there has been through something similar I'm sure. Here's a list [^] from the American embassy of medical facilities which includes dentists. A nice round of antibiotics and some pain pills will get you through 'til Monday. Good luck.
