A friend of mine is planning to go to work to Germany. It seems that there are good offers related to his field of expertise. He asked me which would be a good salary for an automation engineer / robot + PLC + CNC programmer for a medium sized company in that country. Any of you can help me to help him? I would like to know which would be a normal salary, a good one and a really nice one. Or a good web page which could give me good information about that. Thank you in advance!

Contact 5 random headhunters tell them you are looking to hire such a person in Germany and ask then the same question. Average the responses. Do NOT use any valid personal information when talking to them!

Contract rates seem pretty good, so expect a decent salary too.

How do Germans tie their shoes?

Scissors cuts paper, paper covers rock, rock crushes lizard, lizard poisons Spock, Spock smashes scissors, scissors decapitates lizard, lizard eats paper, paper disproves Spock, Spock vaporizes rock, and as it always has, rock crushes scissors. :)

A lot will depend on experience but I imagine there are websites that provide the information you are looking for. Some charge for the data.

Trust me: in English "knotsies" doesn't sound like "Nazis" (whichever possible pronunciation of "Nazis" you choose).
