We've now had 3 cacti make it through 6 months and flourish, so last Saturday we were brave and adopted a potplant again :-O Any advice gratefully accepted...

But since I was looking at a US calendar, here it would be on the 20th, -5 to -10 (if you include Hawaii) GMT. London is GMT though, so it's 3/21 for you, I guess! ... but today is also officially the last day of winter in the northern hemisphere! :jig: Ok, ok, I know they are predicting rain for tomorrow (first day of spring), and even heavier rain for Sunday - but who cares! Spring is almost upon us, and that can only bring better days! (or is this SA totally naive? :~ ). Damn I'm looking forward to the summer :-D

When I worked there it was just one of those 3 month youth scheme thingy's, but it seems that the only way to get in without being sponsored (and tied to) by a single employer is the green card lottery? I guess if US CPian's read this now they will probably flame me, but I'm seriously considering applying so we can work there for 2 or 3 years, travel around and see all the beautiful places in the US on our list of "places we must visit before having kids" :-D

im not working here as such im doing my own bizness here with investment from overseas heh i just think the uk sux these days it seems to be gettin very unsafe and frankly i got bored with it and there are so many butiful places to see here :)

The one good thing about the UK is it's cheap to see the rest of Europe from. We still have a few places we want to go to in Europe, but I'm sure other places like Thailand would be no harder to get to from the US. Of course, me having a British passport made this the obvious place for my husband and I to start out from (less than 2 years left of living here till he has citizenship too, which will liberate us to go elsewhere). But I would love to go back and work in the US for 2 to 3 years, then possibly move on to Australia for a couple of years. After that, who knows. Don't we all dream of SA being a real possibility one day? I know Brend and I do, but how much truth the dream will hold when the time comes, I don't know.

well doing an internet bizness works from anywhere so im not impacting the us market unless its thru spending money here and creating jobs yah south africa is the ultimate place to "return" to but when i dont know ... still way too many places to see and people to meet and things to do in the big wide world before i think about hanging up my boots :)

My daffodils are daft - they come up in December, having no idea what time of year it is. Although Winter begins 12/21 and lasts until the vernal equinox on 3/21, we got our first winter weather last week. Prior to that it's been 20 - 25C all winter long. Rough weather, eh?:-D It is ok for women not to like sports, so long as they nod in the right places and bring beers at the right times.

In Bullhead City we have only two seasons - Christmas and Summer. Somehow Christmas must have gotten cancelled, though, as it's been unreasonably warm all winter. I actually had to wear a light jacket last week while taking a walk at 1:00 AM - quite surprised me, as I assumed that the cold season got skipped this year. It is ok for women not to like sports, so long as they nod in the right places and bring beers at the right times.
