    Oh, how you malign the wildlife. :sigh: I think we last visited Oatman about a year ago*, on our way back from Vegas. Finally drove over that big new bridge too. * FaceBook tells me it was last July.

    Hehehe... well, I don't have a problem maligning those wildlifes - burros or Democrats, they're all jackasses to me. I haven't been through Oatman for about a year or so. The last time was probably Jan - Feb 2013, as I took my new Savage .243 Axis out for a test shoot after work one evening on the way home. Boundary Cone Road is the main road to Oatman from my office, being the original Route 66, but it continues on to Kingman and points East. Immediately after leaving the town, though, there's a dirt road to the left that goes to Bullhead City called Silver Creek Road. There are a number of spots along that road where it's safe and legal to shoot. I haven't fired it since, as I really don't care for bolt action rifles, and haven't had much reason to visit Oatman either. Since I got the .243 BLR and .30-06 BAR I've been really intent on becoming proficient with them, and that requires a formal range. Happily, there are two on Boundary Cone Road - one near my office, and the other in Golden Valley. The close one is good for general shooting, but the one in Golden Valley has a 1000 yard range, which both of my favorite calibers are designed to reach accurately. I hope one day to be competent to shoot that range with either. :-D

      "I try and to lead by" "I try and to coach" The use of "and" in these circumstsances implies success.

        Cue furious debate which English is more "original" - including the War of Independence, how French people are too nosy, why the British are way better at handling tea*****, and of course Hitler... *****hint: don't add seawater

                There's an 'originator' of English? I'd love to meet him and have a few words about how he got some parts of his initial design wrong.

                    This is actual code in our codebase:

                    // Items in Bad must have counterparts in Good.
                    private static readonly string[] _badWords =
                    {
                    <list of really naughty words >, "gotten"
                    };

                    private static readonly string[] _goodWords =
                    {
                    <list of really naughty words santised>, "acquire, obtain, come by, receive, gain, or any of the many, many, MANY other words that deserve to be used instead" };

                    ...
                    // some code to search and replace bad words with good words.

                    <Serious Dad-frown and a pointing finger> Don't make me use it! </Serious Dad-frown and a pointing finger>

                          You speak real good. Actually I feel like that now. I can't use any of the rich, colourful terms we have in Oz becuase I just get blank stares, or worse: they just pick a random interpretation of what they think I said and go with it.

                            As you may remember, Bob Barker always would ask you to spay or neuter your cats at the end of the Price Is Right. I guess in the end this has similar population control effects. I'll make sure to use this word more often.
