It's appalling, isn't it. I live in Australia, and I've seen similar things happen here. I really do wonder how on earth those sort of people can justify to themselves that they are doing the right thing. Ryan Binns He who laughs last... thinks too slowly.

I think some one posted this link earlier [maybe a month ago] and also said something similar about how ashamed of living in the US. I also remember someone asking [as Colin did here] if Nish knew this lady, as she also hails from Trivandrum. A friend of mine told me a similar story about her son's girlfriend (a young lady from the UK) that was treated in much the same way on her return from a visit with her parents about a month ago. As far as I know, she is still in the UK trying to get back - she has (or had) a job, apartment and automobile all here. Very sad :(( Steve

Thanks, Paul. We can always count on you for to bring things into a rational perspective. Now for my typical irrational rant - there is probably very little about the U.S. that Cris Hansson isn't ashamed of. I mean, if making a simple, honest mistake in the attempt to make some small, humble effort at defending our borders is enough to set the guy off, one cannot help but wonder how he feels about anything American. People like him are the reason this country has virtually open borders. "My job is to protect America" George W. Bush.

Compared to Bush's press conference yesterday... now THAT was something to be ashamed of. Marc Help! I'm an AI running around in someone's f*cked up universe simulator.

Protecting your borders against Canadians / people with dark skin? Targetting potential terrorists would be a better idea.
