What experience do you expunge from your CV?

With 10 plus years of software engineering under my belt, I've worked in many companies using a lot of different technologies. Whilst some were a joy to work with, there are some that I never want to see or be associated with again. To that end I tend to not list the following in the hope that no one expects me work with them: Web development (HTML, JavaScript, CSS) Visual Basic 6, VB.NET, VBA or any derivative language SSIS Perl Any in-house developed DSL LabView AutoSys What are yours?

Any exposure-only technology. For example I mentioned 'familiarisation' with Ruby or Java, and suddenly I get pr**ks trying to recruit me to Ruby On Rails 'guru' jobs or Java architect positions. Bloody dim-witted CV robots, written by naive programmers who haven't a clue what a Rule-Based System is. And don't get me started on 'Active' advertising that tries to sell you what you just bought. Again and again. For three weeks.:mad:

SharePoint, definitely. Most other .NET technologies as well.

I love writing code and especially creating UIs. It's my passion and I have put up with a lot of cruddy, unintuitive languages and development environments to follow my bliss. Some of the more arduous technologies I've encountered would be: Embedded FORTH - well actually, any FORTH for that matter The inaptly named NATURAL and its backend ADABAS VC++ 6 MFC - Creating any sufficiently complex UI was akin to attempting suicide with a hammer. COM/ActiveX - it was a nice idea that got lost in the implementation. The road to hell is paved with good intentions. Anything involving Eclipse! (now where did I put that hammer?) InstallShield LISP - that syntax, oh the humanity! But I really enjoy using LEX & YACC, so what does that say about me? ;)

Wix is a priceless skillset. True it seems trivial from the outside looking in but the power and flexibility of that framework makes developers who have mastered it extremely valuable.

I may not last forever but the mess I leave behind certainly will.
