A satellite photo of an airplane sitting in the desert is proof? You ever been to Arizona? There's hundreds of airplanes sitting in the desert. Hmmm, maybe there's terrorists in Tucson!!!! Those willing to trade liberty for security deserve neither - Benjamin Franklin

The satellite photos should be proof enough of his story. Its not like we're going to get a lot of "live" defectors from Iraq.

Am I the only one who sees the irony in the fact that this is being reported by PBS and NPR? For those of you on other continents or in countries other than the USA (you too Ed), PBS is the Public Broadcasting System, NPR stands for National Public Radio. NPR is a fairly nasty thorn in the side of conservatives. The reason is that PBS/NPR is a fairly liberal organization, which in and of itself is not "bad" - the thorn comes from the fact that NPR recieves public funding, read that as saying, "my taxes help pay for it even though I don't agree with the opinions they espouse". For this to be available from the NPR site means they find it overwhelmingly credible. But Jason, no matter what the facts are - "this business of anger directed at terrorists just doesn't feel right." Mike

We train them how to hijack airplanes, buses, and trains? So you're saying we're terrorists too? Come on Ed, you can do better than that.

"my taxes help pay for it even though I don't agree with the opinions they espouse" Hmmm. I could say that about Bush's massive defense spending and war on Iraq. NPR's entire budget is less than the cost of a single Blackhawk. (BTW, the way they keep crashing, there won't be enough of 'em left to fight the war.) The guy defected and told us about a training camp where people are trained to hijack planes using an old plane. He tells us the location and we point a satellite at it. Viola! There's a plane there. Sounds like his story is corraborated.

I applaude you for serving 6 years, but did your service end the moment you were discharged? Why don't you support your country a little more. From the way you talk, I would think you were an anti-capitalist nazi.

FYI: I own a small business. It's my second. I'm a member of the Chamber of Commerce. I've run a non-profit community website where my business is located for the past 7 years. Just because I don't share your war fever for an ill-advised retribution against Iraq ("he tried to kill my daddy, boo-hoo") doesn't make me any less American. interesting, but sadly: "American officials confirmed that they had met with the former lieutenant general in Turkey but said they had not learned all that much from him. They said it was unlikely that the training on the fuselage was linked to the Sept. 11 hijackings in the US." that's what i want: a clear Saddam -> 9/11 link. until then, Saudi Arabia will stay higher on my list of countries we should invande. -c
