I have no doubt that the info is sketchy at best, I just wanna know how a group of people that was supposedly disarming for 12 years can shoot a missle into another country (still). Uptight Ex-Military Republican married to a Commie Lib - How weird is that?

So, you're pretty satisfied with Chris Losinger's answer, aren't you :-D Moreover, you perfectly know nobody pretended SH had no weapons :)

The peaceniks are good at griping, if they were good at action SH would have disarmed 12 years ago. The UN is a joke, Sh has been laughing at it for years, but you don't hear the peaceniks complaining about that. Uptight Ex-Military Republican married to a Commie Lib - How weird is that?

The only reason inspections were even started again, after a 4 year lapse, was because the US aimed a gun at SH head. Blix even said yesterday that the cooperation wasn't there from SH. War sucks, but I would rather have it there than to wait til they were to attack us or our allies. Uptight Ex-Military Republican married to a Commie Lib - How weird is that?

i've heard many reports of Arabs from all over the region going to Iraq to help. and of course, the calls are up for Muslims all over the world to bring the fight directly to the US - where they actually stand a chance of doing damage. -c

We are not watching the same news here: From my sources, Blix declared: "We did not have any obstacles from the Iraqi side in going anywhere. They gave us prompt access and we were in a great many places all over Iraq"[...] But the Americans "lost patience some time at the end of January or the beginning of February," Mr Blix said. He suggested that Washington was "doubtful from the beginning" about the process. [...] "I somewhat doubt that when (the Security Council) got the resolution last November they really intended to give under three-and-a-half months for inspections," Mr Blix said. However Mr Blix said the mission had showed that it was possible to have a UN inspection regime that was truly international and independent from the intelligence services of member states"

He had 4 months to produce clear and serious results that he was completely disarming. Instead he went about it in a piecemeal sort of way that was not at all serious or clear. Nobody wants war and I really don't appreciate it when you talk like that about those of us who support this. I sincerely prayed before this war started that it could be avoided, but it was not.

I agree that war sucks, but I also believe that SH is a real threat to the US. I don't believe in waiting until we are kicked in the teeth, when you see someone who is a true threat you need to stop him. I don't enjoy war, I don't think its amusing, I have a pretty personal perspective about what it really means. The question is, will the world be a better place when the man is gone, and will it be worth the cost. In my opinion it will be better, and it is. If Saddam would have surrendered himself, this would be over by now.
