The dangers of an office job...
-
...Should not be taken lightly. My back has been hurting for over a week now. I replaced my chair last weekend and it seems to be getting better. This isn't the first time I've had job related back issues either. For all of those that think I must be an old geezer, I'm 27. Let this be a warning to all you young people out there who are just starting their job at the office (or a reminder for those who've worked there for a while)... Get a good chair and a well adjusted desk. Unlike your software your body doesn't have a backup!
public class SanderRossel : Lazy<Person>
{
public void DoWork()
{
throw new NotSupportedException();
}
}Get rid of the chair and get either a yoga ball (or a stool) - your spine is not supposed to be supported. (Also - nobody i likely to steal the yoga ball)

Don't feel left out I've let mine go too and I feel it with everything I do.

You feel everything with your back? ... ah, you lay down all the time - gotcha!
Life is like a s**t sandwich; the more bread you have, the less s**t you eat.

Yes, I've had my spine removed long ago since it was really just a bother anyway. Much easier to be spineless these days.
I lost mine in my 1st divorce. :)

There were more? What did lose after that, your soul? I got it, your mind... ;) (Bank account balances don't count, I'm sure that was gone after the first)
It was broke, so I fixed it.

After the first you just assume the position and wait for the reach around that never comes. :)

I've let them both go. I'm very free-spirited.

There are basically only two muscles that keep you upright; stomach and back if you let one go the other has to compensate.

I've been working hard to develop those stomach, erm... muscles. I've gained a good 6" in "muscle" in the past 5 years! :-D
Will Rogers never met me.

Same here from a size 32 waist to 34, pure muscle. :) Right!!! The only muscle I've been exercising lately is my brain and the rest has been settling to my ass. :)

also, look at your vehicle that you ride in or on. A Walk is good but also just regular exercise. I play wackyball 3-4 times a week. (Racquetball) But pick something that doesn't feel like exercise to you.
To err is human to really mess up you need a computer

Phew! I do hope they have showers in your office... X|

Alright, you got me... It's actually my strategy to get more work done during the day. As soon as someone enters my office they get this weird look on their face, turn around and make a run for the bathroom. My daily interruptions are at an all time low and my productivity is soaring. I plan to take the car to work one of these days so my boss can enter my office and promote me for my superior productivity :D

}My goodness man, what are you going to do when the zombies invade, the meteor strike happens, ISIS hits your office, followed by the Imamah and then Cthulhu, and then a sharknado, and another Sol Nemisis pass through the Oort cloud. You'd be so scr...d. To heck with the comfy share go lift some iron, get in shape for the coming catastrophes.
Rage against the narrative.

That was my first thought but I live in the tropics and work in an "open plan" bench type set up.

}Yoga. Forward and backward bending postures. Of course, not by reading a book, or watching a video. But, with the guidance of a guru. Sadly, may be difficult to find a good yoga guru near your place, who doesn't charge (exorbitantly?). My guru in Bangalore taught for free. For about forty years (1968 onward). Not much publicity. Fortunate indeed to come across such a guru. - Six months of basic yoga (posture and breathing - asana and pranayama). - Six more months of simple meditation. - Six further months on a little more advanced meditation. I've attended the basic course about three to four times in my life - starting from 1981 (free, isn't it). And the advanced courses twice. No back problems till now, in spite of a sitting job, maybe a similar (or worse) kind of a chair like yours.
