Depends on how good you are at programming. If you're rubbish, then falling asleep can only improve your code when your head bounces off the keyboard... A lot of coders use this technique: see QA for proof.

Heavy breakfast is not good for anyone - but to answer the question, yes, digesting food costs energy. ..but do take into account that no single animal in the wild has ever heard of this thing called "breakfast". Lions do not wake up to find a meal waiting to get their day started. I think it is rather unhealthy to eat when you just woke up.

I use it to compliment the BACON. The other half always gives me her bacon during a cooked breakfast as she goes off it, so there is no real need to worry about bacon shortages.
