I have to agree with the general consensus here; the film is pretty great, and the effects are awesome. Having read the comics as a kid, I'm pleased to say that the transition from comic strip to movie screen has been a sucessful one, and that the characters remain as rock-solid as ever, only this time there's more of them! :-D

There are loads of new characters that I've never seen before (such as "I can make my body metal" guy and "big loud scream girl" ), so it seems that there's no shortage of individual plotlines to follow. If I had to fault it, the ending did leave way too many loose ends, but then we all know that the third one is coming! I'd say this is probably the best film around at the mo, but the Reloaded WILL kick ass...

    Go see them both!

Stoo Just because you're paranoid, doesn't mean they're not after you...

The "I can make my body metal" guy is Colossus (Piotr Rasputin - Russian) and "big loud scream girl" is Siryn (Theresa Cassidy - Irish). Colossus has been a prominent character in the XMen universe for a very long time and Siryn is the daughter of Banshee also a long time character. Steve

Cheers for humbling me anyway, man! ;P  Stoo

It is always nice to be able to share (not to humble) some of my trivia knowledge (not to mention that I have an X-Men collection that goes back to 1963 including the very first #1 issue). So much of my brain is filled with the stuff (trivia), its nice to know the space is useful for something...:) Steve

If she were my kid I would not take her, not because of the violence but because she probably would not enjoy it. It would be a bit of a waste IMO. Also some of the scenes would probably have scared me silly at age 5.

She didn't enjoy most of it. :-( I regret having taken her now, but she nagged me so much to go see it. :-( Regardz Colin J Davies

You need to update/remove that bit of your profile ;) I used to live in Bexley, a long time ago :) It's easier to get to Bromley than B'heath from Orpington. You're better off going to Bluewater anyway ;) Cheers, Barry

Damn - it's so hard to find old threads when notifications go to Hotmail! I actually work in Maidstone, but live in Orpington as my husband works in the city. He takes the train, and I drive down the M20 each morning :) You're right about Bluewater, it's pretty awesome. Only problem is, we end up with aching feet before we can get round the whole place...
