I've tried it (Xamarin in VS2017) - it isn't too bad imo. Most pseudo-native app development platforms are pretty slow compared to their native counterparts anyways. There's often a significant productivity boost from a dev's perspective (you can get more done faster), but it comes at the cost of more obscure edge-case bugs, limited functionality, and/or runtime speed impacts in the shipped product.

Well.. i have kicked off the installation with Workloads Xamarin, .NET Core

Don't worry, it's good. And with a bit of work you can make snappy multiplatform app. I have 3 gorgeous and snappy phone (iPhone + Android) under my belt from my previous work! So it's true! ;) But the dev experience can be frustrating every now and then.... I guess it's quite better that it used to be hey?

yeah, i am hoping that it would be not that much bad experience, as i want to get some hands-on Xamarin and then would blog some useful tutorials, and may be able to make some useful cool utility app :)

Hmm, I guess both Windows 10 and VS2017 on my systems must be broken. They never give me problems.
@richardmaccutchan Well, let's see: 1. started the day with the win 10 taskbar at the bottom of the screen squnched down where the icons were not visible: re-booting did not change this ... could not re-size it, or change it by moving to the right, left, top, and then back to the bottom of the screen. after installing the latest win 10 patch: it is restored. 2. since about 4 win 10 patches ago, I cannot adjust the screen brightness in the usual way, or by using the Lenovo hot-keys. given my serious vision problems ... the reason i purchased this high-end laptop ... this is a real problem. VS 2017: 0. the notification for "optimizing" start-up times keeps appearing no matter how many times I select to permanently disable it. i reported this to MS: their response was: "sent to triage" 1. today I started a WinForm control library project, added a Component which I set to inherit from TreeView ... then, I added a WinForm app project to test the component in. somehow, with standard debug build settings ... and no references to anything web ... within five minutes i could no longer compile: with the error message that the UserControl preview window whatever could not be loaded from some web namespace. had to rebuild a fresh solution. no amount of fiddling withe build settings, and re-building.cleaning cycles would fix this. 2nd. tome this happened, and never happened before VS 2017. If I could make up the various nightmares I've had, and my friends have had, I'd be writing for Hollywood :)
