Much of what was in the BBC article was already known. In the first few days after the event, the story was constantly changing because the media was reporting on things they knew very little about. The big problem is that the media thinks they know more than they really do. Tim Smith I'm going to patent thought. I have yet to see any prior art.
Just that I did not know anything about it. :-D My article on a reference-counted smart pointer that supports polymorphic objects and raw pointers

Without in any way detracting from the soldiers involved (because they can never be certain what is going to happen) or the soldier rescued, I wish the media had the guts to report stuff without exagerration  Elaine :rose: The tigress is here :-D

Normally the links you give from the timesofindia seem biased, but this time I'm inclined to believe the whole thing was a setup. I'm sure this kind of activity is far more common than we the common public believe. We are constantly being duped. Regardz Colin J Davies

Other than a stereotyped "wishing to find fault with the US?" At this time I do not know and if shown to be true will have an impact on ..... If true why were they fired upon unless they were acting in a manner that appeared hostile. The US was not firing upon everything that moved. If she was taken from the hospital how did we know she was going back? Were we just really lucky or our intelligence that detailed and good. I really do not believe the latter. The story was reported in my local paper a day ago. An unnamed defense official said they took issue with it. The whole premise of the BBC story was wrong and based on speculation. Have not seen any local comments since then. "For as long as I can remember, I have had memories. Colin Mochrie."

Smaller Animals SoftwareIt is my understanding that the raid itself involved only a squad or two of special forces. But a marine corp company was nearby in a stand by/defensive mode. There would obviously also have been any number of air and ground support units involved.

When the story broke a retired US Army Colonel (24yrs) here said it looked like it was "too good to be true", and was very fortunately timed. Regardz Colin J Davies
